On November 20, Dr. Julie L. Gerberding, Co-Chair of the CSIS Commission on Strengthening America’s Health Security, testified before the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities on “Biological Threats to U.S. National Security.” The Commission’s final report, “Ending the Cycle of Crisis and Complacency in U.S. Global Health Security,” was submitted to the record and featured prominently throughout the hearing, including in Chairwoman Ernst’s opening statement and in the Q&A period.
